To Whom it May Concern:
My teenage son, father-in-law, and myself had a fantastic experience pig hunting with Keith Conger from Rawhide West. I had been investigating possible hunts for months when a friend informed me of Rawhide West in the Redding, California area. From our first contacts Keith was a great fit for us. He was personable and professional. His philosophy of getting in as close as possible enhanced the hunt. Keith was patient and knowledgeable. In many ways, it was like hunting with an old friend.
It was an amazing setting. We hunted with a view of Mt. Shasta on one side, Mt. Lassen on the other, and the Coast Range behind us. The fall scenery was fantastic. Within minutes of starting the hunt we saw a large group of pigs. In fact, there were many pigs throughout the hunt and lots of shooting opportunities. My son ended the first day with a huge boar. The next morning my father-in-law had a nice boar as well. (I was documenting the occasion, not hunting.)
We could not have asked for a better place to hunt nor a better guide to hunt with. It was an experience we will remember forever. Plans are already in the works to go back. If you are looking for an exceptional pig hunt, and want to experience a truly wonderful setting, this is the outfit to go with.
Sincerely,
Tom Nolan

Many thanks to Keith and Rawhide West.

To fellow hunters and others:
I have wanted to hunt wild boars in California since reading about it in "Black powder Hunting" years ago. I hunt strictly with muzzle loaders, while surfing the net after my retirement (Dec. 2009) I come across RawhideWest web site. The site got my attention I then called contacting Keith Conger of RawhideWest, after a short conversation I knew I would like to hunt with Keith. Keith being a hunter himself he answered all the questions free range hogs, no dogs and no baiting, he is very helpful.
The drive south was just over 10 hours I got there early and just relaxed until we drove out to the ranch. We started to see hogs while unpacking and getting set up. The facilities are very comfortable and the food was better than what I get at home. We saw a number of hogs that late afternoon but it just did not work out.
Saturday AM was better while loading the truck Keith observed a rather large herd of hogs in the pasture and blackberries. Keith got me in position and I was able to get a nice boar with my new Kentucky muzzle loader.
I would highly recommend Rawhide West with Keith Conger to anyone that wants a great hunting experience, whether you hunt with a bow, modern rifle or muzzle loader.
I might add the scenery was fantastic and we saw hogs, deer, turkeys, quail and one BIG BEAR.
Sincerely,
